We assess your teeth to make sure the whitening treatments are suitable for you and prepare your teeth correctly for the best results. We offer in-chair teeth whitening for fast, dramatic results or customised take-home kits for the convenience of whitening at home.

We use Philips Zoom! teeth whitening technology. Only available from dentists, it is a safe, effective, pain-free treatment used worldwide. For in-chair treatments, the Phillips Zoom! whitening system uses advanced blue LED light to accelerate the whitening process. This system lightens up to eight shades whiter in just one sitting.

What should I expect when I have my teeth whitened?

Every teeth whitening treatment at Azura starts with a consultation to assess your oral health and current colour shade. Any issues, including tooth decay or gingivitis, need to be addressed before you undergo any teeth whitening treatment. We will also discuss in-chair and take-home treatment options during this consultation and answer any questions you may have.

Our dental hygienist will then clean your teeth to ensure they are completely free of plaque and tartar before starting your whitening treatment.

For in-chair whitening treatments, the advanced whitening gel is applied to your teeth, and we shine a special LED lamp on your teeth to speed up the whitening process. We repeat this process four times. Once the whitening treatment is complete, we apply a post-treatment gel to help protect your tooth enamel and reduce sensitivity. You will receive a complimentary take-home maintenance kit, so you keep your smile brighter for longer.

Professional teeth whitening is considered a safe and effective way to refresh your smile, especially when a dentist does it. Dentists have undergone training to ensure they complete the treatment correctly. They will also assess your teeth to make sure teeth whitening is right for you before starting any treatment.

Is teeth whitening painful?

Most people do not find teeth whitening painful. However, some people with sensitive teeth may experience discomfort during the whitening treatment or when consuming hot or cold food or drinks afterwards. This is usually only for a very short period, no more than a day or so, and we provide different treatment options to help manage and alleviate the sensitivity.

How often do I need to undergo teeth whitening to keep my smile bright?

Teeth whitening is not permanent, and regular maintenance is required to maintain your whiter, brighter smile. We recommend you undergo a whitening treatment every two to three years; however, individual results vary. We include a complimentary take home maintenance kit with every in chair teeth whitening procedure. Allowing you to maintain and extend the life of your new bright smile.

How do I care for my smile after my whitening appointment?

We will provide you with instructions and a home maintenance kit to prolong the results of your professional dental treatment. In the first 48 hours after whitening, your teeth are highly susceptible to stains. As a rule of thumb, we suggest avoiding smoking, food and drinks like tea and coffee, red wine, dark beers, beetroot, chocolate, berries and other colourful foods. We also recommend you avoid wearing lipstick or use a smudge-proof one for a couple of days. Remember to brush, floss, and continue your regular dental appointments for longer-lasting results.

Do I still need to see my dentist for check-ups once I’ve had my teeth whitened?

Even though your teeth are white, you still need to see your dentist for regular check-ups. It is essential to stay on top of gum disease, tooth decay and other issues for good oral health. We will also check on the results of your whitening to help it last longer.
